Motorola Milestone 2: Surely a Better Sequel

[New Gadget] Milestone 2 is literally a milestone for the Google’s Android operating system. The original Milestone (also known as Droid in the US), is one of the best selling Android mobile device since it’s launch. This first Motorola Milestone is also one of the few older devices that started off with Android version 2.1 and subsequently received an update to 2.2.

Specifications:

  • 116.3 x 60.5 x 13.7 mm, 169g
  • TFT capacitive touchscreen, 480 x 854 pixels, 3.7 inches (Gorilla glass)
  • 8 GB system storage; 512MB RAM
  • 5 MP, 2592х1944 pixels, autofocus, dual-LED flash (720p@30fps video recording)
  • 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor, PowerVR SGX530 GPU, TI OMAP3630 chipset
  • Android OS, v2.2 (Froyo)

Motorola Milestone 2 is a slider which remains a rarer form factor in the market with the HTC Desire HD as the other. And that could be just the factor why you would choose be a customer of Motorola.

However, high resolution matters and Milestone 2’s 480 x 854 pixels is obviously not the best in the market. But then again, the rest of the competition are finding it hard to match the powers of the Super AMOLED and Retina display.

Motorola Milestone 2 makes it’s debut on Singtel with S$348 with a 2 year plan, S$100 less than that of the HTC Desire HD whom has a bigger screen estate. This is also the first time a Milestone is not retailed exclusively by Starhub whom has previously exclusively selling Milestone and Milestone XT720.
