Samsung has hit our local mobilephone selection hard with several interesting phones such as i450 and G800. And this U900 Soul is outstanding in its unique way as well.

As usual, I would like to raise two key highlights of Samsung U900 Soul.

Firstly, as you would have notice, the touch pad navigation right in the middle of the phone. Apparently, you can adjust the sensitivity of the pad so you need not worry about non-responsive buttons. For me it looks great and is a refreshing idea but it does not improve navigation or efficiency on the whole. Hence, it is more like a gimmick than anything else. Take a look at how it will work. The next item on the list would be its 5 megapixels camera. While 5 megapixels would gradually be the standard in the market, U900 Soul is still one of the few in the local market at the moment. It has nearly what G800 has except for the optical zoom part. The sample photos of this latest release look impressive. But my stand is still the fact that if you really need great pictures you would need a proper camera.

In a nutshell, U900 Soul has the looks but lack really substance bearing in mind it is not a smartphone. And this is indeed reflected in the pricing with Singtel offering it at S$268 (2 year plan).
